please excuse my absence, I’ve been having a life

Standard

Although I’m always thinking of cool blog post ideas, it seems I’ve run out of time for posting!  I’ve spent the last few weeks mostly outdoors, embracing the summer weather in Vancouver, which has translated into very little screen time.  Which, of course, is a good thing.  A few things we’ve been keeping busy doing:

Visiting with grandparents while on vacation with them for a week in Parksville

Beautiful oceanfront view in Parksville

Beachcombing for starfish and sand dollars – we even rescued a few starfish by placing them back in the ocean!

Pretty starfish

Mini-golfing with the kids and their grandparents – three generations, what fun!

Exploring small towns on Vancouver Island

At the waterfront in Port Alberni

Looking for goats on a roof, but discovering they had taken the day off

No goats on the roof

Going on a farm tour at Mooberry Winery and tasting some of their delicious fruit wine, as well as the cheese from Qualicum Cheeseworks

City girl on a farm

Exploring a Provincial Park and hugging 800-year old trees

This is me, hugging a tree

Celebrating our wedding anniversary and going out for dinner with my husband

Walking the seawall in Vancouver for Mother’s Day following an impromptu family picnic in the park
Checking out all the neighbourhood playgrounds now that the weather is sunny again

Catching up with friends old and new at the schoolyard

Celebrating my birthday with friends and recognizing how lucky I am to have such an amazing group of ladies as friends

Whew!  What an exciting month it’s been so far!  Stay tuned for more adventures…
